I really hate the way people talk about FromSoftware making multiplayer games when a creative MP implementation is one of the main things that put Demon's Souls on the map. Plenty of people at the studio, Miyazaki included, clearly like MP and want to do interesting things with it!

Magical familiars or summoned spirits is a surprisingly apt schema for thinking about LLMs. You can theoretically get them to do something you want under certain conditions, but you really shouldn't trust them or spend all your spare time talking to them.
I'm not surprised TOO often anymore about all the roleplay-text induced weirdnesses in LLM outputs, but the fact that poetry can be used to defeat prohibitions and produce nuclear weapon-making instructions is pretty odd/hilarious. Yet more kindling for the "magical incantations" camp

My most minor "boomer take" is that it was way better when people were making music parodies "sung by celebrities" but using publicly available voice clips to splice that shit together. That was funny. AI voice is stupid in comparison.
