Our country was founded on resistance to a tyrant.
Attorney General Pam Bondi: "Our country was founded on law enforcement"
Bondi: "It's extremely organized. The signs they have are all matching, they're well written. And look at what's happening today. How did these people go out & get gas masks? These protesters. Would you know how to walk out on the street and buy a gas mask? Think about that. We're not gonna have it"

At what point does the daily insanity and wanton cruelty of everyone in power just fundamentally break people? Because I feel like I'm getting there. How are we supposed to just go on day after day witnessing such cruelty and indignity constantly through our screens yet we can't just ignore it?

ICE is sending these kids to the concentration camp in Dilley, Texas, where they're preparing to have so many children that they're opening a new school there. They're actively hiring teachers now. I reported on it last month. We have to get people out of there.

I met an absolutely lovely academic who asked whether my department back home is affected by ICE -- a question dramatizing how little info is getting out.

For the record, the small example I chose:

My dept has a carpool to pick up grad students of color who can't safely commute to campus alone.

Because our own senators in Texas can’t be bothered to even try to conduct oversight.
I flew down to south Texas today to do my job - investigate why people are dying in ICE detention centers.

I was just illegally denied entry to Dilley Detention Center. Because they have something to hide.

Mendoza needs to throw the ball if they want to win this game.

Americans' economic and political pains mainly stem from unprecedented concentration of our wealth, a few dozen mega-billionaires control 12%.

They buy a lot of politicians, media outlets, & influencers to distract from their power by blaming our pain on immigrants, DEI, women's careers...

You know what's going to wreck the economy even more? THE ONGOING INVASION OF OUR CITIES BY THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT.

It is my, granted, anecdotal impression that entire cities shut down by fear, violence, & the need to form human chains to protect toddlers DON'T CONTRIBUTE POSITIVELY TO THE ECONOMY.
