Beep21 has reported that Hideki Sato, the father of Sega hardware, passed away yesterday at age 71. We planned to publish this article later, but it seems more fitting now to honor Sato's commitment to Sega's quality and legacy.

RIP to one of the greatest

Made one of my favorite soundtracks.

Mad respect for anyone that makes a song this long, with a solo and everything, on the NES: www.youtube.com/watch?v=k7mp...

This is an excellent recent article that adds further nuance to Sega's misfortunes and the reasons why they happened.

It's not TK bashing, so please don't just react to the thumbnail. It's an analysis of SoA and SoJ (and a little SoE) and the market conditions involved and the practices of both.

I think about the giant Death Crimson mounted light gun quite a lot. You could say one of my bucket list items is to make the pilgrimage to see this thing in person. It’s high art. Just look at it.

Okay I buried the lede here. In the 1995 E3 Show Daily, Crystal Dynamics ran an ad that promised, in no uncertain terms, that playing Gex would give you "multiple orgasms"

They ran this ad at a professional event

Just wanted to put out to the world that I actually will take any Digital Pictures E3 chocolate bars if any of you happen to have one.
If you have the Digital Pictures limited edition E3 chocolate bar, please do not donate it, it is probably super gross by now

Just want to complain about how Fair Use is totally and entirely ignored nowadays. The material in my next video is tied to the history of MTV-era music videos, but even though this is "a work of journalism," just one half second of Madonna's Like A Prayer would instantly nuke the upload with ads.

I just think it's wonderful that Aphex Twin's Drukqs has, on multiple occasions since its release, cemented itself into human cultural relevance. Not for the high octane breakbeat jungle trips, but for the brief interlude tracks. Catch Lornaderek getting 500 million Shitify plays in five years.

I am now okay with vertical video shorts strictly for them causing the resurgence of Aphex Twin.
