The frustrating part about being American and navigating Healthcare in the setting era of Medicaid is that so few people understand that your taxes pay into your annual premium on federal plans. So yeah, you're paying double now with a private plan, while the tax man lobs another bomb at kids.

A fun reminder that a loss of 60,000 jobs in and around academia is ~50% more than all coal mining jobs in the entire country.

A fun reminder that a loss of 60,000 jobs in and around academia is ~50% more than all coal mining jobs in the entire country.
I'm really tired of authors breaking the stellar pacing of their novel for the Cambellian slog of the hero turning to their family in some way and being disappointed. For a lot of reasons. But mostly just because of the slog. 🫠 It's a hard thing to get right.

My first day of Agriculture 101, my prof/dean lectured that Americans spent 4% of their budget on food. It was an out of date stat from the 80s that R liked to use during ag lobbying.
That estimate was updated in 2023 to an average of 20%, with people on the low end of the curve hitting 36%. USDA

Before there was Booksky or Booktok or BookTube or w/e, there was this tall ass lanky blerd at my local Borders that always gave me the BIGGEST SMILES and excited book recs every single time I walked in the store.
Booksellers are MVPs.
I think about that man a lot and I hope he's doing well. 💕
