Jag vet inte hur det är med de andra högstatustidskrifterna, men allt som publiceras i Nature numera bör nog anses som skräp? Peer review-funktionen har uppenbart helt upphört att fungera och redaktörerna har lämnat skeppet.
"Runctitiononal features"? "Medical fymblal"? "1 Tol Line storee"? This gets worse the longer you look at it. But it's got to be good, because it was published in Nature Scientific Reports last week: www.nature.com/articles/s41... h/t @asa.tsbalans.se

Techmiljardärernas självbild som genier är verkligen helt rubbad. Thiel har byggt ett betalsystem på nätet och ett system för att analysera stora mängder information. Kompetent ingenjörsarbete får man anta, men knappast så mycket mer. Zuckerberg byggde en glorifierad databas.

Consider a programmer looking at code they themselves wrote a year ago, now having to identify and fix a bug. They have to rebuild the mental model of what is going on, which is easier if they have already had a mental model of what is going on.

DOGE was created for data theft and infrastructure dismantling and it wildly succeeded on both counts within the first few weeks of its existence. It will take a generation to rebuild what it destroyed and the breach of data is unprecedented.

Yes! This is so important! Machine Learning is doing wonderful things like mapping Martian craters and analyzing microbe genomes. LLMs are a very specific form & it’s them doing these huge amounts of harm. I also sometimes say “Gen AI”

Journalist challenge: Use “Machine Learning” when you mean machine learning and “LLM” when you mean LLM. Ditch “AI” as a catch-all term, it’s not useful for readers and it helps companies trying to confuse the public by obscuring the roles played by different technologies. 🧪

I don't deny that dogs can sometimes be quite lovely but what I will say is I don't trust their opinions. If a cat recommended me an album it had bought, I'd totally check it out. If a dog did the same, I'd promise to listen to the album, out of politeness, with no intention of actually doing so
