WHAT THE JAZZ!? PB's adventures continue in this surprising 100th issue- with a frightening new villain, buckets of lore, and way too much metahumour.

THE PROPER BONKERS 100TH EPISODE SYNDICATION EXTRAVAGANZA! Yes, that is the title. Out Saturday 4 October!

Get ready to celebrate!
Cover for a parody Doctor Who audio drama: THE PROPER BONKERS 100TH EPISODE SYNDICATION EXTRAVAGANZA by JACOB C. ROSE

The Doctor (Jacob C. Rose) poses dramatically on a floating asteroid in space, surrounded by a flying TARDIS and a field of other asteroids. On the other asteroids are the Doctor's companion, Timmy (Phoenix Smith) and a mysterious Saxophone-wielding figure in a cape. The saxophone player has glowing blue notes flying out of his instrument.

Generative AI by definition is conformity. It is an averaging of anything you ask of it - quite literally guessing what the most likely version of a thing might be. It is, by definition, mainstream, as is everything it creates old and deeply ideological, as every model trains on similar data.

AI filmmaking is peeing. It’s pooping. It’s throwing up. It’s a new kind of liquid coming out. It’s hated by the establishment. It’s what goes in the toilet. It’s wet. It’s what’s in the bathroom.
AI filmmaking and storytelling is punk rock. It’s hip hop. It’s counterculture. It’s a new type of creativity. It’s a new medium. It’s hated by the mainstream film and art establishment. It resists ideology. It ignores gate keeping. It’s uncomfortable. It’s scary. It’s viral. It’s accessible. It’s refreshing. It’s welcoming. It’s here.

Among the greatest promotional photos of all time are these for the 1990 television movie of IT, where it looks like a prestige legal drama about a firm of hot young lawyers and one associate who likes to dress up like a clown.

please stop celebrating, Dr Who only releases a mixed-media multi-platform adventure series when it's in severe distress 😢

There were a lot of interesting sections from that James Gunn interview but I gotta be honest when I say that this section resonated with me the most
There are things that I know I don't explain that I don't even want to say out loud! But I wanted Superman to be vulnerable. I see the online things "Who would beat whom?" - Homelander or Superman or fucking whatever, Adam Warlock or Brightburn, and I'm like, "This is the fucking stupidest fucking conversation." Like, so then whoever would win this fight means that they're the best? Because I'll just go out and write God Man, who can destroy you with a wink. And I win. I win all the fights forever. But I didn't want a Superman who…

I fucking love Stevie Nicks for this
“Is there internet on your iPhone?
It isn't connected, it's just a camera.
I'm envious of that.
I hate it. About 10 years ago, Katy Perry was talking to me about the internet armies of all the girl singers, and how cruel and rancid they were. I said, "Well, I wouldn't know because I'm not on the internet." She said,
"So, who are your rivals?" I just looked at her. It was my steely look. I said, "Katy, I don't have rivals. I have friends. All the other women singers that I know are friends. Nobody's competing. Get off the internet and you won't have rivals either."

It’s official. I will be introducing a Bill for an independent public inquiry into the UK’s involvement in Israel’s assault on Gaza.

The government must decide: will it support this inquiry, or will it block our efforts to establish the truth?
Text of a Ten-Minute-Rule Bill calling for an inquiry.

Same. Feels much more appropriate then Whatever was going on with the Sutekh reveal last year.
Also feels clever because the REAL cliffhanger is that earth is destroyed- Tardis is blowing up. Like an actual tangible stake.
And then you have the character reveal as kind of an add-on.

I don't know what's worse: that Starmer intentionally chose to mimic Enoch Powell, or that he's taken Labour so far to the right that he's repeating fascist rhetoric by accident.

Starmer's Britain.

Not even subtle.
They found ourselves made strangers in their own country. Enoch Powell. We risk becoming an island of strangers. Keir Starmer.

He GETS modern Who. The pacing is tight as hell- nice amount of twists and turns- zippy dialogue -manages to land a few emotional hits -Scary but not macabre… but then after all that what on earth is it trying to communicate? Feel insane if I think about it longer then 5 minutes.
