So, for all those who love the Finger Lakes: a b*tcoin miner plans to turn the old retired coal plant on Cayuga Lake (just north of Ithaca) into a hyperscale data center.

A bunch of us worked for years to shut down that coal plant—and won in 2019.

Qiu Miaojin (邱妙津; 1969–1995) was a Taiwanese novelist, considered a literary national treasure & counterculture icon, best known for her 1994 novel Notes of a Crocodile. 📚
Her works have a lasting influence on LGBTQ+ literature in Taiwan & the world, recognized as part of the lesbian literary canon.

Sophia Parnok was a badass lesbian poet.
In @swordsjew.bsky.social words, the gayest voice of Russia’s Silver Age.
Her poetry was banned after 1928, and her work almost forgotten until 1979 when her collected works were published for the first time -which is why it is so important to read her today.

They avoid learning about the bodies of the women they want to bear their children, but they’re trying to track strangers’ cycles so they can gamble on sports. I don’t think therapy can fix that level of misogyny.

The absolute worst thing RFK has done is equate autism with ‘suffering.’ I keep seeing and hearing non-autistic people going on and on about wanting to reduce ‘suffering’ and I’m just like- are autistic people suffering bcz of their autism or bcz of you??

Yes, this is the biggest thing imo- the shifting definition of ‘suffering’ to mean ‘I’m suffering as a caretaker but i don’t like saying that so what I actually mean is YOU are suffering and whatever I do to you now becomes justified bcz I’m actually trying to relieve YOUR suffering.’

The Bangladesh security forces have also shown deep prejudice against the Indigenous people, arresting a student organizer of the protest and standing by as Jummas and their homes were attacked. The Indigenous people have been officially blamed for causing the unrest in the area.
