My neighborhood is deep in the city, full of immigrants, and about as resistant as it gets.
ICE knows Pritzker has their backs, and probably expects Johnson to run interference for them too if they get in a jam. It looks like he will. Big mistake. It will not pacify this town.

He’s dumping the problem in Brandon Johnson’s lap. With ICE cut loose to attack the city, the focus moves to Chicago; they’ve been everywhere today, even my neighborhood.
If Johnson follows Pritzker’s bad example, and sics Chicago Police on folks resisting ICE, all bets are off.

During a military-style raid on a building in Chicago’s South Shore, one resident heard a knock on his door.   It wasn’t the feds — it was a mom and her 7-year-old daughter, pleading for help.

I like the content-addressable system analogy. this is where I think they can actually have real utility—they can translate conceptual languages across domains and enable discovery of connected ideas and works, which can then be subject to traditional research methods not using “generative” models.

if the US-led Atlanticist empire is able to install Machado like they installed Jeanine Añez not long ago in Bolivia, she will preside over a total ransacking, looting and indenture of Venezuela and Venezuelans. this is the model, the only destiny the empire will accept for the Global South.

right, it’s a question of bad vs worse. Maduro is at least a counter-power to the empire currently collaborating in the commission of genocide. the idea that the US wants “democracy” in Venezuela is hollow marketing; the US, or the capitalist “Western” empire, wants control of Venezuela.
