Chuck Schumer is a disaster for the party. Everyone knows he’s a disaster for the party. He’s unpopular with the Dem base. If Dem Senators wanted to push him out of leadership, they could. But they don’t want to because it’s a country club, not a party that has the goal of achieving policy outcomes.

So Merrick Garland declined to swiftly hold Trump accountable and also sat on a mountain of Epstein files?

If Schumer and Jeffries are not willing to fight now, in the moment of greatest public outrage and when they have the most leverage, they will never fight. They are the worst possible people to have in this spot.

ICE are running around in the streets using facial recognition on random people and telling anyone filming them they're a domestic terrorist and Democrats solution is to equip every ICE agent with their very own body-worn surveillance camera

Chuck Schumer has gotta go
Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said the party agreed on three main goals:

° Require warrants in some cases and ICE coordination with state and local law enforcement

° Create a code of conduct and enforce it

° Require agents to wear body cams and not masks
Democrats demand new ICE restrictions as government shutdown looms
After federal agents shot and killed Alex Pretti in Minneapolis, Senate Democrats say they’ll block a massive government funding package without policy changes.

New poll — Abolishing ICE continues its historic surge of support.

46% support
43% oppose

80% of Democrats and 15% of Trump voters support abolishing ICE.
Independents are +8 on the question.

Chuck Schumer is funding the attack on MSP with your tax money. He's never gonna stop. Chuck loves ICE. He's actively helping the murderers of Renee Good and Alex Pretti. Murdering Dem officials like Melissa Hortman wasn't enough for MN. Chuck wants to make sure taxpayers feel fear and pain too
I will believe that ICE enforcement has changed on the ground when I stop getting daily notices that armed, masked goons are circling my kids’ schools and trying to sow fear in the parent patrols.

This is totally inadequate and Schumer has gotta go
SCHUMER says Democrats are “united” behind three DHS reforms

1/ End roving patrols; tighten the rules on warrants and require ICE to coordinate with local authorities.

2/ Enforce accountability; a uniform code of conduct.

3/ Require masks off, body cameras on, agents carry ID.

Chuck Schumer just announced demands on DHS to avoid shutdown:
1. End roving patrols, tighten rules on warrants
2. Enforce accountability & unified code of conduct for agents
3. No more masks & require bodycams

There are *already* standards on much of this.

The issue is DHS isn't following them!

listen here you stupid leftoid, if you just voted blue in 2024, ICE would be ruining the lives of immigrant families quietly and efficiently in a way where we wouldn't have to hear about it on the news

And this is just their starting point on negotations. Imagine how toothless and unacceptable the final bill will be.
Dems coalescing around 5 restrictions on ICE, I'm told:

DHS required to cooperate with state probes (big)
CBP stays at border
warrants for arrests
IDs, bodycams
ICE out of churches, schools

"That package unites a lot of Dems," Sen Chris Murphy tells me on the pod:

Unfortunately Democrats only know how to give cops more money, technology, and staffing. They only have one button to press and they’re making a very concerned face as they press it

Bovino’s retirement needs to be a cage. His command environment yielded Renee Good’s death, Alex Pretti’s death & Julio Sosa-Celis’ shooting. Failure to prosecute Bovino & everyone else materially responsible for these atrocities will be understood by ICE, CBP, etc as a green light for the next ones
January 27, 2026 at 1:53 AM
Now we need the Democrats to not seize on Bovino's sacking as an excuse to cave and fund ICE. Also need them to commit to abolishing ICE and prosecuting the trigger men and officials who put them there. My confidence in Democrats doing this is quite low though.

One of the many ways that centrist and liberal media and politicians alike sacrificed their own country’s future to protect a second country’s inalienable right to massacre.
I remember liberal twitter from the globe emojis to the graph perverts all in lockstep that TikTok was evil and possibly why Harris lost, a campaign which managed to 1) hand Trump an instant victory when he "saved" everyone's favorite app, and 2) allowed him to later turn it into a propaganda tool.
I think there's a pretty good argument to be made that if it weren't for the bogus charge that TikTok was brainwashing American tweens into becoming Taliban commandos, the ban—very predictably delivering control of the entire platform into the hands of the president's allies—would not have passed
