Hoooooo boy. I don't think I've ever seen this explained so plainly before.
This is actually quite brilliant, up to and including the final sentence 🔥

Marc Jacobs still has it IMO.

He's channeling Comme des Garçons and maybe Cindy Sherman here.

Fun fact, no one actually knows how brains work, that’s why it’s an active subject of research.

OG “AI” was created as a tool for this research—modeling various brain functionality in hopes to learn something. (These models aren’t facsimiles of biology, they are mathematical abstractions.)
Notice how tech talks about brains, they treat soft, vague, high level concepts as formal definitions. "Optimized for natural selection we have innate drives for power seeking..." They never explain how any of that happens/works! Then, if their program "fits" the definition, they claim they did it!

We can't really say this enough...

> Anastasia Berg [at UCL Irvine] said that new research — and what she's hearing directly from colleagues across various industries — shows that employees who heavily rely on AI are losing core skills at a startling rate.

I just asked Siri what time the sun is setting today and it did the animation and then remained silent. It's too early for seasonal depression little robot.

Flipside of this is that the on demand concierge-ification of everything is Too Much.
I understand that some people think Pluribus is too slow (honestly, welcome to Vince Gilligan) but I cannot overstate how much I am enjoying the detective adventures of the world's grouchiest lesbian
pluribus is the only show brave enough to ask if one mean lesbian could save the world

Has anyone named the phenomenon of people who buy six-figure precision-engineered European SUVs with tires that cost $500 each who then drive timidly in the snow? Now is your time to shine people.

Thaemlitz will probably never spill the details, but I would love to know the production secrets of the bass on Midtown 120 Blues. It is so deep and wide that the album cannot be pressed on vinyl.
