I wonder what would happen if we could assign what agencies/programs we wanted our tax money to fund on our tax forms... 🤔

I've had SO MANY emails from other distributors today...like, I get it, but it also feels very flies-on-a-carcass.

We were at the American Library Association Conference this summer talking with librarians about the importance of everyone having access to books that represent all kinds of different backgrounds and experiences.

Thank you to every librarian working to defend our right to read.

Can’t decide what to buy on Prime Day?

Try: absolutely nothing, and then go support indie bookstores instead 📚

Some highlights from this weekend's wandering.
#weekendwanderings #memories #family #memorylane
In foreground, a man crouched down seems to be taking a photo of the cemetery and church ahead of him. An abandoned house, with the woods growing up around it. Night sky, Ursa Major (the Big Dipper) pictured in the middle. Remaining buildings on the home farm.

Taking the kids to see where their Opa grew up, where his side of the family is buried, and all the places I remember visiting while growing up. #memories #memorylane #family

One of the great perks of being a librarian...I can generally reserve my home bookshelves for favorites and collectibles! :)

And the insane arrogance of thinking you can shelter your child from anything and everything you disagree with! I've had more difficult conversations with my kids over things they heard at school or on the playground than anything we read in a book.

This is ridiculous. Book banning frustrates me as a library professional, but it absolutely INFURIATES me as a parent. Either you are capable of parenting your child, which includes paying attention to the content they are consuming, or you are not. I can manage my own kids, ty! 🧵

🧵 In 2025, book censorship in the United States is rampant and common. Never before in the life of any living American have so many books been systematically removed from school libraries across the country.

Read our new report "The Normalization of Book Banning" at: pen.org/report/the-n...
Graphic for PEN America report titled 'Banned in the USA: The Normalization of Book Bans'. Features a stack of colorful books in front of a blackboard with '22,810 books banned in U.S. public schools, 2021-2025' written in chalk.
