Thousands of undocumented immigrant workers helped rebuild New York City in the wake of 9/11.

24 years later, they're at risk of deportation as they still struggle with chronic health issues.

A pathway to citizenship is the least these workers deserve. documentedny.com/2025/09/11/u...
They Helped Rebuild After 9/11. Now They Live in Fear of Deportation.
Nearly 25 years after clearing rubble at ground zero, undocumented workers could gain a pathway to citizenship with a bill from Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez being reintroduced today.

100% in on this take. The bastard was a slick-talking racist hopped up on his own arrogance. I don't agree with murder ever, even for hate-filled monsters like him, but let's not honor him or his antics. Hell, he wanted people like me stoned to death. I'm having a really hard time mourning him.

If you didn't say anything about Melissa Hortman's death then actually I don't believe that you're suddenly worried about political violence today

He should have been our Senator. He would be an incredible Governor. Alabama is an idiotic place, set to destroy itself by way of applied ignorance and boatloads of apathy.

Jones: What I’m seeing today is different. It’s no longer simply black and white like it was in 1963. We now have much broader problems in America — deeper divisions among races, religions, genders, and sexual orientations. Those divisions are growing, and people are stoking that fear and anger.

I know people in Russellville. The white people there don't want to work that job. Alabama will soon see the economic outcome of our government's compliance. More important, who knows what'll happen to these immigrants between their arrests and deportations.

Alabama has of course partnered with ICE. The bastards detained 24 INNOCENT immigrants in a raid between 9/9/25-9/11/25. They were at work at a Pilgrim's Pride in Russellville, a small town near me. A handful had minor traffic violations; the rest had no scuffs on their records.

AOC: Whether it is a member of congress, whether it is the President to assume and assert and cast blame when the FBI has failed to even apprehend the assailant, is absolutely an irresponsible action.

Minnesota is heartbroken.

From the officers responding, to the clergy and teachers providing comfort, to the hospital staff saving lives, we will get through this together.

Hug your kids close.

Even Tinder thinks I should be working on a book. Little do they know, it would be about the dumb side effects of dating apps. 😆

It's wild being able to like a wildly rich person in this economy.

Illinois is launching a first-of-its-kind legal hotline for LGBTQ+ individuals — Illinois Pride Connect.

As the only state in the nation that will provide free legal advice to protect the LGBTQ+ community, we'll help fight ignorance with information and cruelty with compassion.

Yayyyyyyyy!!!! A federal judge has blocked the transfer of any additional immigrant detainees to a detention site in the Florida Everglades and ordered much of the facility to be torn down.

The fact that nobody around him has told him this isn’t how numbers work shows you how afraid of him everyone who works for him is.

Crockett: My former colleagues from the Texas House—decided to get the hell out of Texas… breaking quorum is where they’re at right now. And they didn’t just do it by themselves—they went to Illinois, where there is a governor that gives a damn. This fight is going to take all of us.

Damn, y'all. I've loved Lee Bains + The Glory Fires for forever and have seen Lee play a couple times but last weekend at a barber shop in Florence was the best yet.

Also, when you're at his show, you don't just get badass punk rock magic--you also get a deep dive in southern history.
