This bear illustration is a memory of trips to the Smoky Mountains with my family as a child. I have such wonderful memories of hiking there. And I’m told that some bears wandered close to our picnic when I was 4 or 5 and I took off running to the car, two long braids flying.
A black and white, stylized and pattern-filled illustration of a seated black bear against a terra cotta background.

The reason Mike Johnson is able to keep the House closed and not pass bills to pay the military or fund the government is because Trump is going to circumvent congress and illegally steal that money from other government programs. All to avoid releasing the Epstein files.

You can save yourself a lot of time by never arguing with people who don't protest *ever* about protest. Keep it moving and reclaim your time.

STEPHANOPOULOS: I didn't insinuate anything. I asked you whether Tom Homan accepted $50k as was heard on an audio tape recorded by the FBI in September 2024. You did not answer the question. Thank you for your time.

VANCE: No, George, I sai--

STEPHANOPOULOS: We'll be right back

a key thing about vought — and all of these guys — is that they have a totally top down and hierarchical vision of the world. they believe that the cultural changes they hate can be turned off by destroying the federal government because they can’t imagine that they emerged bottom-up in society

What he’s railing against is a profound shift in culture, status… He’s obsessed with the idea that America is controlled by a leftist “ruling elite” - but “elite” isn’t defined socio-economically or by political power, it means something like: Getting to define “real America” and who gets to belong.

Being autistic is being told why didn’t you ask for help.

Because asking required social scripting, shame buffering, tone analysis, and a risk assessment.

They wanted the House.
They wanted the Senate.
They wanted the White House.
They got it. All of it.
It's all theirs.
And it's shut down.

They can lie
They can troll
They can "own the libs"

But. They. Cannot. Govern.

This is all you need to hold in mind when you're looking to assign blame.

If you’ve never been in the military please understand the majority of us served for you.

We sacrificed time for you.

Most of us are not war mongers.

We served and fought for you.

Unfortunately right now the military is getting used as pawns for a dictator.

Chicago journalist Debbie Brockman, who was thrown to the ground & handcuffed by ICE, has been released without charges

DHS said she assaulted an officer, but eye witnesses claim she didn’t

The lack of charges makes it clear that ICE is lying to try and cover up the fact that they attack the press

Please remember that "that's illegal" is a *description*, not a *conclusion*.

The law PROHIBITS people from doing things. It does not PREVENT people from doing things. "Illegal" does not mean "impossible." "Illegal" means "on a list of actions the government can, but is not required, to punish."

Today is my birthday. While my disease is chronic, not sudden, I wasn’t sure I’d make it to 46. I am deeply grateful. I will be spending the week connecting to nature and making art, with the caretaking support of my husband. Eat some cake today!
