What creativity & a keen sense of the ridiculous can do for normal, everyday things 🔥😆...

...for those who wonder why the hullabaloo about genAI taking over the arts.

(Sure genAI can recreate this but 'creation' itself is quite beyond it. That requires ingenuity, innovation, rule-breaking, etc.)
You know, I'm not sure I ever really read the Pond Rules at our local nature preserve all that closely before

We don't need tinfoil hats anymore.
The conspiracies are real and out in the open.

The world has always been messed up by the moneyed and the powerful.
The difference now?
Us hamsters on the wheel have the access to watch it all play out real time.
Our Hope? Art that inspires + people's movements.

Christie's Passenger to Frankfurt was about a worldwide conspiracy of oligarchs + politicians to control & shape world interests.
That's the first time I felt as though we're all hamsters on a wheel run by unseen hands.
Willing hamsters trained to focus on the wheel, grateful for exploitative jobs.
Yes, the Renaissance (& many eras) are full of examples of the pattern that the very rich try to turn wealth into power. If the system won’t let them, they’ll break the system to do it. Contrast the instability of Genoa (no new families could join the elite) with Venice (the 0.01% could be voted in)
In which TPM reminds me of @adapalmer.bsky.social's Reinventing the Renaissance

"But it’s also an effort by those who have had a vast run-up in wealth over the last quarter century wanting to use that wealth to lock in that wealth by the acquisition of direct political power."

Fun Fact: Lupus is 2 to 4x more common among Black people than white people. Blacks also have a higher risk of death & disability due to lupus.

Humans are diverse at every turn. Science should reflect that.

Not to debate the result but...
I often wonder how much differing cultural expectations and perceptions of 'livability' or say, 'happiness', play into these surveys.
Is it possible to have a universal understanding of these terms enough to provide a world-wide ranking?

The most important thing on social media is courtesy

Sometimes courtesy looks like a pre-emptive block

Which is good as it saves everyone the hassle of getting mad at each other

It’s a courtesy

(Unfortunately, I'm still dependent on some Google functions. No longer on Meta or X so baby steps...)

Anyway, found this. Seems to work a charm. Sharing is caring!

There's other "Smart" add-ons as well, but that's the one that reads your content.

Future increases will factor in inflation, and the price of housing.
