Too often, conversations about #disability inclusion in faith communities focus only on access: ramps, captions, or sign language interpreters. While these are essential, they are only the first step. True inclusion means more than presence; it means belonging. Learn more at the link below!
Moving Beyond Inclusion and into Belonging - Disability Belongs™
Moving beyond inclusion requires shifting from an accessibility checklist to a culture of shared responsibility, learning, and respect.

disability gatekeepers are bizarre like if my friends/family members/even strangers online are talking about possible symptoms that i Also have & are associated with my ~formal~ diagnoses then i mention it Just So They Can Look Into It bc i don’t want anyone to suffer for years the way that i have

Sometimes I wish I could make parents understand the sort of pain a child has to be in to go no contact. It's incredibly hard to fight that instinct to seek a parents love. You have to break your own heart.

Every year, in like clockwork, when the world gets colder my brain gets slower. So far I'm getting words down via freewrites, frequent walks, and talking to myself.

Ah, to long for the spring bloom, when my body thaws and fibro calms tf down.

Too often mutual aid requests stall while a person is alive, and then when they pass the goal is met quickly.

It’s hard to ask for help and as a community we need to commit to helping in life & in death.

We need to fund treatments, housing, food & caregivers… not just funerals.

Alice was a fierce advocate for people who need and use AAC, and presented and wrote with passion on the impact of ableism on basic human rights. She will be deeply missed..

Rest in peace Alice Wong, a hero of the disability community, a gorgeous writer, whose work was the first taste I had of dignity of disability in art. Of community and justice for disabled people. I never met her, but Alice Wong changed my life.

May her spirit find peace without pain.

White women need to learn to fight for each other collectively, and we need to learn it now. We are not safe, we are an intended demographic of victims.

For ourselves, for each other, for every other person who suffers under fascism.

To my USian friends, don't forget that there are a lot of small elections across the country in the coming few weeks. Turnout determines them--so turn out.

I'm not loving how every failed presidential candidate gets paid the entire budget of the publishing industry that year to write a book called I Learned Nothing
Jesus christ. It angers me deeply how not a single damn person in power who wants to at least pretend like they give a shit shout trans people will read even one damn book about the history of sex segregation in sports, cause you’d see how it’s all just sexist bs. www.politico.com/news/2025/09...
Kamala Harris cites concerns about trans athletes in her book
The Trump campaign attacked Harris over her positions on transgender rights. She says they were misconstrued.

Disney/ABC have a responsibility to refuse to participate in corruption.

Kimmel must be reinstated. If Disney/ABC agree to this extortion then perhaps creatives + workers should consider collective action to push back. Same w/buying park + cruise tickets if they bow.

i opened the wistful doorway
to my heart
& found your poem
frayed
hidden away
holding your words of love
& sunset sonnets
from long ago
fading
lost in time
& i remembered with a smile
when i was your muse
you were my poetry
then i tucked your poem away
saved
for another rainy day

In a world where the stupidest words are half blurred and censored in random articles, please do not add disabled to the list.

It's not a dirty word. It's not upsetting. It's not inappropriate, adult, or bad. Stop erasing every sign of us and branding us like we're shameful.

I am not giving Youtube my photo ID.
Do not give youtube your photo ID.

This is the perfect way to set yourself up to be doxxed. Don't believe for a MOMENT they'll be adequately protecting your sensitive info; there's no incentive or law requiring it.

Thanks to my amazing beta readers, my book's central relationship has evolved and deepened in ways I couldn't have imagined! I have a scene to expand into its one chapter, then an epilogue to rewrite, and then I'm going to be focusing more and more time on finer details and query prep.

Some good news!
A growing number of states are passing laws that require companies to sell wheelchair parts to wheelchair users so they can fix it themselves or bring it to a mechanic to fix it for them.

My latest for @motherjones.com. www.motherjones.com/politics/202...
Wheelchair users are finally winning the right to repair
State laws are forcing private equity–backed firms—which can make buyers wait months—to allow DIY fixes.

Their release date and launch party are on the 22nd of August. I can't do a reading there, but I am so excited for this batch of Lore to exist!
