Finished Tasha Suri's The Isle in the Silver Sea (2nd book I've read about characters taking over their own stories this month).. Next book is @rflong.bsky.social's The Lore of Silver (sequel to Book of Gold)..

Been on a real reading kick lately and I'm loving it.

Out and about today signing copies of The Lore of Silver & the paperback of The Book of Gold in Dublin bookshops. And sneaking in some character art cards for lucky buyers. There are 10 different designs. Let me know who you find?

I've had a few 'what do you do' convs recently, and everyone on hearing I'm an author comes out with "so how do you come up with ideas?", just like every book or movie about a writer has them staring numbly into space because they don't have an idea for the next book. And look, that is Not It.

Two days until The Lore of Silver is out in the wild. If you see it send me a photo #feralgods #inthewild

"A storming adventure, full of characters you can root for and twists and turns a plenty! The best kind of fantasy inspired fast ride." 5* Netgalley review

People who dismiss e-books or audiobooks as being somehow less worthy or less meaningful than physical books are missing the point of books. Books are not ink and paper, just as human beings are not defined by their physicality. Books are connections; emotions; ideas; just like their creators.

every author in the class action, please file the claim.
AI advocates have warned that if every author in the class action filed a claim, it would "financially ruin" the entire industry.
Authors celebrate “historic” settlement coming soon in Anthropic class action
Advocates fear such settlements will “financially ruin” the AI industry.

When do archivists wear white cotton gloves?

✅ When handling photographs because the acids & oils on your skin can damage the emulsion (surface layer) of photographs.

❌ Not when handling all other kinds of paper because you lose dexterity and are more likely fumble and tear a page.

I am calling upon the people of Ireland to immediately begin construction of a thread on this site about how you or someone you know was roasted for a fashion choice. We need it.

All roasts must have come from Irish people *only*. Please respect this important rule, it makes a difference.

Getting book scam emails now for books that aren't even out yet. Delighted Wildewood blew you away, strange little A.I. thingy but you can't have read it yet. ARCs don't exist yet. The Lore of Silver doesn't have reviews on Amazon yet because it isn't out until next week. I'm so tired of it.

‘Nickname’ is not ‘nick’ + ‘name.’

It was originally ‘ekename.’

‘Eke’ was the Middle English word for “also” or “in addition.”

Since ‘ekename’ began with a vowel, people used ‘an’ before it.

Over time, 'an ekename' became 'a nickname.'
