The Super Bowl halftime show, with Bad Bunny showcasing Latin music before a global television audience expected to top 100 million, will illustrate the nation’s immigration divide whether or not the reggaeton star delivers an explicit political message.
The enthusiasm — and scorn — surrounding Bad Bunny’s star turn at the Super Bowl

kind of funny that an olympian said they are here to represent "compassion, respect, and love for others" and some people automatically knew that was a statement against them

They’re not helping the majors get into the classes they need or writing the 1 million reports required by admin or showing up at the thinly attended colloquium. Anyway that’s who’s in the Epstein files.

There’s a “superstar” layer at every R1 institution I’ve been at that isn’t composed of academics in any sense I recognize. They’re there so the institution can claim them, but they use the university as a launchpad to contracts and speaking engagements. They’re not teaching the intro classes.

We don’t know yet how this NJ story will end but the *best* possible outcome for AIPAC is that they lit $2 million on fire for no reason and I think that’s beautiful
AIPAC might have just inadvertently and single handedly tanked a pro Israel candidate and sent a woman to Congress who says Palestine is the victim of a genocide

2. Don’t tell me
3. I don’t want to know
4. As I previously indicated, please no

These decisions affect literally thousands of DC area families.

And they were made by folks enjoying record profits (and/or the fruits of their corruption)

In less than a week the Kennedy Center has effectively closed and our local DC paper has been gutted, both by billionaires.

I don’t think immigrants are our problem in this country.

okay but democratic voters want to abolish ICE and prosecute everyone who works for it, so
Democrats want commonsense reform for ICE:

End the roving patrols and racial profiling.

Take accountability and abide by the same rules as local police.

Masks need to come off, body cameras need to stay on—no secret police in the United States of America.

Professional athletes are being advised not to leave the hotel or go anywhere without their passports while visiting Minnesota.

This is not a country that can safely host international events like the World Cup.

Boycotting is not even a political question anymore. It is a basic issue of safety.
The Montreal Canadiens are playing the Minnesota Wild in Minneapolis tonight. The players have been recommended to stay in/eat at the hotel, take the team bus to the arena, and carry passports.

Perhaps we shouldn't be hosting the World Cup and the Olympics...

Frankly, things are so immediate and intense in Minnesota right now that it feels like people in other places talking about other things might as well be on the moon.

This is especially the case when people from elsewhere talk about how much things have changed here when they clearly haven’t

Q: Can you be specific about how many ICE and CBP agents are currently operating in the state?

HOMAN: 3,000. There's been some rotations. They've been in theater a long time. Day after day, can't eat in restaurants, people spin on you, blowing whistles at you. But my main focus now is draw down

A retired Minneapolis couple who had guns pointed at them by ICE in a church parking lot.

"They were obviously not trained at all. I've known many police officers in my life. These people were right off the streets."

"They had the professional demeanor of criminals."
