A random combination of political nerdery, faith, running and enjoying Milton Keynes life with a young family. Ex-city councillor, still interested in what makes MK tick.

Am I missing something? It's a *branch* meeting for members, a routine part of political activity? Not out of the ordinary to have food at such a meeting. Part of the social aspect of political activity.

Very different from offering free food to members of the public.

Branching out into fantasy I see!

Milton Keynes was really designed as a buffer zone to block the marauding forces from Oxford from advancing on Cambridge. All planned that way from the start.

Ming Campbell was a dedicated public servant and a true Liberal giant.

His principled leadership opposing the Iraq War was a mark of his morality, courage and wisdom.

But more than that, he was an incredibly warm and caring friend and colleague.

We will miss him terribly.

Turns out that Mambo No 5 is the perfect length for a Channel 4 advert break. We checked twice. #taskmaster

The right line I think - but members need to have a formal say on this very soon.

Reform's ‘plan’ to revoke the legal status of millions of UK residents is morally abhorrent & economic madness

The public believe in fairness & mutual respect, not this cruel Trumpian policy that would leave us all poorer. We are not America - we must resist this dangerous turn in British politics.

This isn't mine but it could be. In COVID times, I appreciated the quiet final hour more than ever.

I like to do a supermarket shop in the evening. Tell my wife because it's quicker when it's quieter. It's actually for the joy of gliding down the aisles on the trolley without people in the way. I'm an accountant and company director in my 40s.

I'd agree with most of that relating to IT as well!

Think he's suspended from Labour at the moment. So expect the amendment to be roundly ignored.

And at the top of the climb near Cardington. Messed up - thought I could get to the second sprint but missed them by a couple of minutes oops

A great day for Leanne Wood of Plaid Cymru! No longer the holder of the UK's most embarrassing leadership election result as incumbent....
2018 Plaid leadership election result, Leanne Wood came 3rd of 3.

Ex-standards committee chair here. Durham are exactly right. Allow anonymous complaints and the system would collapse with bad faith actors trying their luck. Mediation is a critical part of the system, which can't be done anonymously.

Anything seasonal to that? There's a reason to sit on social media more in January than August, for those who aren't glued to it.

It's a very pretty house. Think it's (just) in Bedfordshire though. None of that Herts riff-raff here.

Interesting. You may well be right. I think it will go the other way though. The concept of one public duty over-riding another just because the Government say so, seems a pretty weak argument to me. Just because you have a duty doesn't mean you can ignore the rest of the law.

There's a clarity that comes from anger. You are more readable and persuasive than ever. Keep going!

Feels like Labour are conceding the next election without a fight, if this is the best they have.

No10 spokesman not prepared to criticise anything about Farage speech today.

Not his description of "invasion", not his prediction that the UK on brink of civil war, not plans to pay the Taliban or Iran to take back migrants, or indeed to rule out doing so themselves.
