I do wonder how much of my generally chill personality can be attributed to the fact that I’ve never needed to drive to a job outside of living in SoCal. Sitting in traffic daily has to do something permanently bad to your brain, right?
my very first job was on the outskirts of LA and after 18 months of the 45-75 minute drive each way I just snapped, quit my job, moved to SF, sold my car, and made a promise to myself that I would never do that again
If you think this is an unrealistic commute for DFW, here’s one my old manager who moved to DFW from Iowa does every single day
