There's such a huge body of evidence supporting universal meals for a whole host of reasons (incl that means testing misses a lot of kids and is wildly expensive), and with the assortment of shitty policy decisions in CA recently, it is nice to see something that is actually aligned with my values.
california now offers free breakfast and lunch to all school children without means testing or questions about 'who deserves' to not be hungry
Free lunch for every kid is now law in Minnesota, New Mexico, Colorado, Vermont, Michigan, and Massachusetts. It polls at about 99% and should be backed by any decent American.
