Critical to know that McCay drew in black and white and gave his engraver, Mr. Hunt, loose instructions. The art is McCay; the glorious color, the little-known Hunt.

My washing machine packed in so I had to drain it all over the floor to get to the valves. There was a 20p stuck in the filter fan. Now to wash all the towels I used to mop up the water.

Dutch Sugarbread attempt update- Think I used the wrong kind of sugar, it is not like bread at all, but more like a fried jam rolypoly, tastes nice though. I'll try again after Christmas

Started making some Dutch sugarbread, it will have sugar lumps and raisins in it. I last had some on a campsite in the Netherlands as a small child, so hopefully it'll work. I had one with marzipan in the middle once, but I'm not trying that this time.

My last market went very well, so that was a very nice end to the year. Now I have lots of cooking to do.

In high school my art teacher told me I didn’t know how to draw because cartooning wasn’t real art.
I have wanted to be in The New Yorker Magazine since I was 19. I’m 53 and this happened yesterday:

"Mr Scrooge. I presume?… Meep Meep Meep Meep Meep Meep?"
I always get more in the mood for Christmas a week or so before the event than on the actual day. I suppose the build up and organising of things is something I enjoy. Either way I like my traditions and the Muppets are one of those.
