Your perspective seems aligned with where you live: makes sense! My county used to be conservative. There are still moderates (D & R). It went for Obama and never looked back...we have R county supervisors and city council members, but D's now carry the day here for national and statewide offices.

I think millions of people are resisting every day, and it is effective on some level and will become even more so. They are helping their neighbors, sharing information, speaking truth. I am not seeing apathy in my community...I'm seeing friends who've never protested joining and showing up.
