She leaned towards her without thinking, not wanting Lena to move away. Lena didn’t. She stood so close to Meirta that she could feel every breath the elf-girl took. Meirta raised her own hand, trying to focus on the wind when everything inside of her was chanting fire, fire, fire, but this time it was a delicious sort of fire that she thought she would crave for the rest of her life. Every night my cat runs into the same problem.

Either she stays on the floor, squeaking her little heart out for attention—or she jumps onto the bed & immediately gets attention & love & gasps of “oh! Hello!”

It’s a tough choice. Scientists are searching for the answer. Until then, she squeaks.
