Also, after having jumped back into Returnal the week, I feel exactly the same way you do about it. They nailed the vibes and the gameplay, but whiffed pretty hard on the Roguelite elements. It’s still a joy to play, but it just doesn’t have the hooks that the best Roguelites do.

I have to also remind myself that I’m of an age where you beat the games that you had, and those were a crap shoot, so you’d beat games like Wally Bear and Bad Dudes even though they were bad and very incredibly difficult. And now we are flooded with so many great games why play a terrible one?

What I always learn from threads like this is how so many people have never beaten an actually bad game. Anyway, my answer is probably 12 Minutes. I’ve probably beaten worse games than that, but I can’t think of any right now, and even googling bad games comes up with weak lists.
