my friend when i was like 7 or something said there were two kinds of weights, some things were measured in pounds but when it said "3lbs" that was measured in "libbies," which were different.

I think there do exist ways to use AI for good, but its the "hypersonic delivery of aid packages to stranded hikers" thing. You can always come up with decent use for anything. Also worth noting is that iirc FightHealthInsurance was initially motivated by corporate AIs declining insurance claims.

it wasn't the only reason i retired early, but forced adoption of ai tooling at my previous employer absolutely played a big part in my decision.
