Without LiveJournal, that wouldn’t have happened. I’d have lost touch with these people I love, and I cannot begin to imagine what other paths my life would have taken.

When I moved away to grad school, LiveJournal kept me in touch with my friends in a way that I had never experienced before (in a life of constant moves, losing friends each time). The maintenance of those friendships brought me back to the area.

Exactly this. The *reason* Bluesky took off and Mastodon didn't is that for anyone who wants to use social media to talk to their friends, to follow their favourite minor celebrity, or publicise their work, and who doesn't want to be brigaded, decentralisation is a bug, not a feature.

note that almost all user complaints about how mastodon sucks are symptoms of decentralisation. if a user knows about the decentralisation it's cos it's causing problems.

Watching _Werewolves_ - its The Purge except a “supermoon” turns anyone who comes into contact with moonlight becomes a werewolf.

Listen - this is kind of all I want out of a movie.

The werewolf effects are… rough but I think most of this is practical so I do _not_ care.
