Told my kids that if you want to get a tattoo, print out the design and mail it to yourself. One year after the date on the postmark, open the envelope and look at the design. If you're still thinking, "Yes. I want to wear this on my body forever," then go ahead and get the tattoo.

One of the best parts of the “Trump wants a $230 million payoff from the DOJ” story: The DOJ said the matter will be steered by officials who will “follow the guidance of career ethics officials.”

Left unsaid: Pam Bondi fired the DOJ’s top ethics official in July. www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddo...
Trump eyes $230 million payout from Justice Dept. as repayment for earlier investigations
“What a travesty,” one ethics lawyer said. “The ethical conflict is just so basic and fundamental, you don’t need a law professor to explain it.”

Important subtext: Hard to oversell how rare this precise Christian coalition is, and how unusually defiant this letter they're signing is.
NEW: 200+ Chicago-area clergy — Protestants, Catholics, and evangelicals — have signed a letter decrying ICE's efforts and voicing a willingness to put their "bodies on the line" for migrants.

"What Kristi Noem and her ICE agents are doing is immoral," they write. religionnews.com/2025/10/21/a...

It sounds like the Republicans should stop protecting Bill Clinton and release the Epstein files.
Comer: The evidence we gathered does not implicate President Trump in any way. Public reporting, survivor testimony, and official documents show that Bill Clinton had far closer ties to Epstein

Well I’ve been a physicist, specializing in optics, for 30 years and this man is saying gibberish based on stuff someone said to him that he cannot remotely understand.
Trump: "Buttigieg spent billions fixing the air traffic control. They used copper wire going into glass wire. Any union electrician here or any non-union electrician would say you can't hook copper into glass. It doesn't work. They spent billions, turned on the system & it was stone cold blank"

Ah yes, you cannot hook up copper and glass, as demonstrated by the fact that the entire Internet does not at all work

This isn't complicated, he's just straight up extorting the Justice Deparment and looting taxpayers to put $230 million in his own pocket. Don't hold your breath waiting for any Republicans in the party to speak up about this either. https://nyti.ms/4oxtpQW

What, if anything, did the No Kings protests accomplish?

I've seen that pop up in everything from genuine inquiry to sneering dismissal. For anyone asking or facing that question, here's an answer.

Everything isn't all fixed, of course. But the protests accomplished at least these seven things:

President Trump is demanding that the Justice Department pay him about $230 million in compensation for the federal investigations into him.

Whether he gets paid will ultimately be up to DOJ's second-in-command, who was recently his personal lawyer.

Trump's shutdown isn't just imperiling millions of Americans' healthcare coverage.

Nearly 42M people could lose critical food assistance when SNAP funding runs out in two weeks.

Republicans think this shutdown is about punishing Democrats. But in reality, it hurts everyone.

"the president is literally stealing $230 million of taxpayer money to pay himself and knocking down a wing of the white house in order to build a giant ballroom"

I dunno I feel like staggering levels of corruption could still be an effective campaign message
