Having read lots of Nassim Nicholas Taleb, I'm super conscious of the fragile future these techbros want to usher us into: If society's operation depends on 100% uptime, that's a BAD PLAN. These folks don't live in reality and we shouldn't listen to them.

Having read lots of Nassim Nicholas Taleb, I'm super conscious of the fragile future these techbros want to usher us into: If society's operation depends on 100% uptime, that's a BAD PLAN. These folks don't live in reality and we shouldn't listen to them.
Just as we shouldn't be surprised that government sucks when the people who hate government take over, we shouldn't be surprised that the news sucks when people who hate journalism take over. But it does present an opportunity to show people an alternative.

Will can't comprehend that good people are watching what American "leadership" is up to - destroying public health, public education, and immigration, and divorcing us from global markets - and predicting that it will cause massive economic upheaval in the future? Seems pretty explicable to me.

They're basically making "politics" so repellent that no one wants anything to do with it, allowing them to take advantage of and hurt the most vulnerable among us. It's vile and we must resist it by wrenching power away from them by doing the work they won't ever do to help people.
