Zohran is stone cold man. Putting out an ad in Arabic after all the Islamophobic shit that’s been thrown his way? Pure swag.

Dems don’t need to copy his politics or even necessarily his campaign strategy, they need to learn how to grow a fucking spine.

The transcript of the full conversation is pretty newsworthy, I think. Even if just the part about him believing other countries are blowing up nuclear warheads underground.

Minorly surprised that Bari let CBS publish this whole transcript, but here it is. I'm only at the part where Trump believes lots of countries are detonating nuclear warheads underground, but ... hoo-boy!

There are ways of saying that it's automatically disqualifying. I agree with you, but I don't have a vote. Not my party.
This administration is telling people loudly and clearly that they think they can kill whomever they want whenever they want. It's incredible how confident some people are that the administration will never want to kill them. Good luck!
Awful: Pentagon officials told lawmakers Trump now claims authority to bomb people merely “affiliated” with “narco-terrorist" groups, Rep Adam Smith tells me. But under questioning, they wouldn't say what “affiliated” even means!

Lots of fresh info in my new piece:

Lemme guess: They're going to reduce the tax burden, help small businesses, reduce regulations, and run government more like a business?
The BDN asked each candidate about how they would address four key issues: homelessness, housing, municipal spending and public safety.
We asked City Council candidates about the biggest issues facing Bangor. Here’s what they said.

This is almost definitely the case. When I see the really hyperbolic shit, I ask myself, "do I know a Mainer who acts/thinks/talks like this?" And the reason I love Maine is that I've been here long enough that I feel like I've met just about all the types of Mainers, and some of these ain't them.
Also noticed at least two adult men in costume with their own bag taking candy. C'mon, man.
But also one kid had an American flag wrapped around a pillow strapped to his stomach and when I asked him what he was he said: "childhood obesity."

He got extra candy.
We live in the sticks, and have for the past 25 years, so I've basically never had a trick or treater. But last night we went to our friends' house and I got to do the candy-handing-out and it's the most fun thing ever.

SO MANY K-POP DEMON HUNTERS.
Seems kinda bad!
Window shopping for 2026 ACA marketplace plans is open for almost all states, and open enrollment is only days away. Millions of marketplace enrollees are seeing 2026 premiums spike due to expiring premium tax credits. See our paper with state-level estimates: tinyurl.com/zndd97k7

This pub is becoming must-read as the purge of anyone with a conscience working in our military seems to be ramping up.
Holy smokes. Literally nauseating. How can people look at this shit and think it's ... good?
Journalist and the media are so broken that the Economist feels the need to post this trolling click-bait garbage. God, it's depressing.

But even if that person is just a bad person, who has everything they could ever need and is still a total dickface, they don't deserve to freeze and starve. No one does.

I think that's baked into just about every philosophy and religion known to humanity, but still seems to elude much of the U.S.
I don't really think there are all that many lazy, good-for-nothing, jerk-faced malcontents, honestly. I think just about all people are "good" when they are able to meet their basic needs as humans. Most "bad" behavior is at root a result of fear and shame and desperation.
All of these articles about "we triple-pinky-swear that all these SNAP folks have jobs!" are so depressing.

It's crazy how many people have internalized shit like "lazy people deserve to freeze and starve." Even lazy, good-for-nothing, jerk-faced malcontents don't deserve to freeze and starve.
