Two things true:
1. This isn’t enough to prevent future abuses of power by ICE
2. Dems have very limited leverage bc if appropriations lapse ICE still has unfettered funds from reconciliation bill, so any accountability measures they can get here are a plus

We need to make passing a federal statutory Bivens remedy a known and important issue for voters. The existing options to hold federal officers civilly liable are extremely limited and are a reason they act with impunity.

If Britain and France moved their naval forces to Greenland and basically forced the US to attack them to get through, I think it would be a very different equation.
I sort of think the Europeans should just station a brigade in Greenland and see if he'll literally attack NATO soldiers.

This is why congressional dems need to grow a spine and stand up for congress reasserting its role. This won’t stop with a bad guy like Maduro. Once the precedent is set, the admin will repeat it wherever it pleases.
