So for the wonderful Sabine’s #PalacesAndGardens #Myth&Legend I’m posting about Dunluce Castle on our northern coast, all information in Alt. #photography #EastCoastKin

According to legend, a severe storm caused the cliff supporting the castle's kitchen to give way, resulting in the kitchen, along with the dinner party and nine members of the kitchen staff, falling into the sea below. The tale often includes the detail that only a young kitchen boy or a tinker survived by taking refuge in a corner or window. This event is said to have led the Lady of Dunluce to abandon the castle, moving to Ballymagarry Castle. It said when a storm rages now, the wails of the kitchen staff can be heard in the winds.
