Frankly absurd. Writer of all sorts of nonsense. Nothing here reflects views of employers, publishers or my terribly embarrassed kids. He/him. #ActuallyAutistic Website: https://scottkandrews.com/

Robbie Gibb says he finds the idea there's been a coup at the BBC is "offensive". I doubt he finds it nearly as offensive as I find his efforts to interfere with editorial independence or hiring decisions, but sure.

I've had enough of feeling despondent. My kids are off to Uni, I have time on my hands, & I know politics from years of working in central & local government. So I've joined @greenparty.org.uk & offered to be part of their policy & digicomms efforts. I need to DO something instead of moping.

I highly recommend this entire thread, not just the initial link.
It was 62 years ago #OnThisDay in 1963 that President John F. Kennedy was assassinated.

Here's a piece I wrote for the History of the BBC website a couple of years ago about how the BBC covered the news.

I'm quite pleased with this one...

Living with someone who isn't ADD is instructive. I'm having to explain the way my brain works - that's it's always either in INput, OUTput or, only occasionally these days, hyperfocus. She's amazed that it's never just idle, pondering, restful. 'That must be exhausting,' she says. She's not wrong 😵‍💫

I was working as a co-ordinator on the COVID comms team for the NHS during lockdown. At one point my colleagues spent weeks preparing new guidance & advice for the public only for No 10 to change their mind at the very last minute. Total fucking shitshow, start to finish.

OMG A blu ray of Masks of Death has been one of my most longed for items for YEARS. Cushing's final performance as Sherlock Holmes and wonderful John Mills as Watson. Only ever released on VHS. It deserves to be seen properly - the owner has always refused a re-release for reasons unknown.

Listening to the new @bigfinish.bsky.social 8th Doctor set and as time has gone by I realise that Paul McGann may be my favourite doctor - he's so, so good and I think we perhaps take his Big Finish work for granted a bit. I wish we could have just one season of him on the tellybox.

During a tech bubble you don't need to make sure that whatever you're selling "is working", you just need a minimum viable demo and a herd of panicking investors afraid of losing out.

It was like this in 1998/99.

A Government of cowards.

Rather than tackle inequality - they've gone for pensioners, disabled people and now it's people fleeing war and persecution.

They can't get away with this.

It's a great cosmic joke that neurodivergence both runs in families and gets diagnosed based on parent reports. I was diagnosed at 30 because a man who has eaten potatoes every day for 57 years and a woman who collects loose buttons decided I was a perfectly normal child.
