And,of course,180db by this scale is 10,000 times louder than threshold of pain.I can tell you when Rick and I were by the runway(~50 feet away from jet taking off) we were being significantly vibrated by sound,but with our fingers in our ears,was not painful.Was somewhat painful w/o fingers though.

I wonder if they are using DB-A or… I think it’s DB-C? It’s been too many years since studying this, I just usually use sound pressure meters to measure sound pressure levels these days. I also don’t remember the difference between the two standards. I thought it was only like 4db or so.

Three key points:
1) The admin has been planning mass firings to begin in October since February
2) The work necessary to carry out mass firings is illegal during a shutdown, violating the Antideficiency Act, which carries a criminal penalty
3) This harms America, ridding us of talent and expertise

Military jet maybe. I think commercial is more like 130-140db; I and a friend did hide near a runway one night, when a jet (I forget what kind, probably a 727) just to see how loud it was. This is back in late 70s early 80s. I think airport security is a bit tighter now!
