This horrific murder of a woman by racist goons is an important test for any politician that wants to enter the race for Minnesota Governor. I won’t vote for anyone who didn’t use their power and platform to fight ICE and try to get them the fuck out of our state.

This is a decent article but it’s crazy to write an article about NYC’s approach to gun violence without acknowledging you receive 40% of your funding from Michael Bloomberg or that your newsroom president is the guy who wrote Bloomberg’s stop and frisk policy.

The 2nd amendment was intended to preempt a standing military that could occupy our cities and enact tyranny. And under the 14th amendment it was to make it harder for racists to disarm and murder racial minorities.

Here's the thing about Stancil: If Kat Abu wins her election, he won't credit any of the things he was critical of; but if she loses her election, it's going to be only because of them. The man hasn't adjusted his priors in years, or done any reading, and he's proud of both things.

"Sensible" gun control and mandated speed limit governors are similar in that well meaning progressives don't stop to think for a second about how Stephen Miller will use the new toy they would be giving him.
The logics for sensible gun control and for mandated speed limit governors on cars are basically the same, but one will provoke insane responses from 50% of the population and the other will do the same for 98% of the population
People lose their minds about this but it would save literally thousands of lives.

I agree with Musk that Hitlerite Silicon Valley must fall.
Religious toleration was arguably one of the hallmark achievements of what Musk would call “western civilization,” but sure dude, we will all just sit around waiting for you to make your list of what you and your rich white friends will or will not tolerate. I look forward to complying fully.

It really sucks that they were able to extend copyright in 90s by another 20 years. Stuff from 1950 would have been going into the public domain this year.
