Still concerned about parking. He/him

Mayor Frey do not call me.

Minneapolis did burn down and is super dangerous with the criming. Stay in your suburbs and do not come here. Also, you do not want to have to contend with all the bike lanes.
There are people who still think the cities of Minneapolis and Portland got reduced to ashes by BLM.

What's most galling is Wurman and Barnett aren't stupid. They both know exactly how dishonest this is. Whatever their motives, and I don't really care, they're not doing scholarship in any of this. They're willful liars abusing their credentials in an aid of a lawless attack on fundamental rights.
The evidence is the text. All you have to do is read the Constitution.

She hates bike lanes and “fit young planners”
I’m never going to be able to see this name in any other way am I? I literally cannot read “carol” without filling in the last name automatically
“A Christmas Carol” but it’s about a boomer named Carol who’s haunted by 3-4 ghosts trying to teach her that there actually is no war on Christmas and maybe she should tone down her decorating a notch

Support the local economies of the communities being impacted by ICE raids. Folks are fearful of walking out their door, and your patronage at local stores helps hold these communities together. Your $ goes so much further. We might not be there when things go down but we can show up to build again.

Going to need to include Barnett here too.
bad actors like wurman are why i think it is important to place the birthright clause in the full context of section 1 and section 1 in the context of both dred scott and the two decades of antislavery and abolitionist agitation and political thinking that proceeded it

1. Which of those dudes looks most like the grim reaper?

2. We’re wearing hats in the Oval Office now/still? You can’t comb it over like the big guy?

3. In that group, the zombie hands know the soccer ball is their best chance at finding something to eat.
This is what Agent Cooper saw when he walked into the Red Room

My dad abhors any negative comments about immigrants. Asked him recently why he’s so strong on it: ‘Because we’re always happy to take the rich and clever ones. Which means it’s not about disliking immigrants. It’s about disliking the poor and vulnerable. And that’s a bad human instinct.’
This is so disgusting.

It will (again) reveal “Originalism” as nothing more than make pretend for an imaginary past that was even more racist
I’m not a doomsperson. I’m actually painfully optimistic and constantly disappointed. And if SCOTUS does away with birthright citizenship I do not know if our country can survive.

IQ is completely fake, means nothing, and not based on science at all so of course the far right has adopted it as justification for insane beliefs, most recently anti-somalian rhetoric

We also need to understand the current attack on the plain language of the 14th Amendment as an explicit attempt to recreate a system of tiered citizenship
dred scott, in their minds, established the united states as a place of tiered citizenship and permanent inequality among americans. it was a ruling that said, in effect, that all men *were not* created equal and would *never* be treated as such.

i think to understand the meaning of the birthright citizenship clause to the framers of the 14th amendment, you have to understand significance of dred scott to the civil war republican party. dred scott wasn't just a bad ruling, it was understood as a rejection of the declaration itself.

I say this as someone born in the literal cradle of the confederacy, only a few miles from where the first shots were fired: the civil war was only a partial victory, and ending reconstruction early meant the ideological descendants of slavers and other racists could start playing the long game.
The 13-15th Amendments were adopted after the Civil War in an effort to make America live up to the lofty ideals of its founding. They are systematically trying to undo them.
It starts with knowing the truth. Don’t allow yourselves to be gaslit into believing this is a real question.

The Kid’s school has been pretty thoughtful about doing these in ways that aren’t more obviously traumatic than things like fire and tornado drills
“No way to prevent this lockdown drill, says elementary school principal in only nation where this regularly happens” — my inbox today

I just cannot. Other American parents, do you just keep your kids home on these days or what?

Who’s the public, Eli?
Can we tell the moderates this is a “Public Safety” issue because the public continues to slip and fall in the winter? Maybe that’ll turn on the money nose if they hear “public safety”.
Vote was 8-4. Palmisano, Rainville, Vetaw and Jenkins voted against. Palmisano argued it takes away from core public works functions in the winter.

It's true—there's a trade off. But maybe sidewalks are core enough transportation infrastructure that it's worth a $600k pilot?
