🎸 The impact of Brexit is most acute amongst lower earners and those at the start of their career.

❌ Music creators at this level are micro-businesses, and with minimal resources available to them, Brexit often makes touring the EU untenable.

The most trusted news source in the US is The Weather Channel. The second most trusted is the BBC.

Quick thread on the BBC and the political and societal significance of recent developments:

One of the main reasons the UK has historically been so much less polarised than the US, is that Britain has a shared source of information, consumed and trusted by most people regardless of their politics.

Bullies are cowards. Stand up to them.
SUPERB and angrily unvarnished response, by former BBC chairman, Lord Patten.

"I don't think that we should allow ourselves to be bullied into thinking that the BBC is only any good, if it reflects the prejudice of the last person who shouted at it." ~AA

If Trump does sue the BBC for $1bn it may leave some of his ideological fellow travellers here in a tricky situation. Do the Conservatives and Reform join in with BBC bashing? Or will doing so be seen as unpatriotic? After all, it would be the British public who would ultimately pay for any damages.

What you’re witnessing is a populist assault on the BBC.

This is not an institutional scandal in any meaningful sense of the word. It is an attack on public service broadcasting.

On Donald Trump's attack on the BBC this PM, Lib Dem Leader Ed Davey:

"It’s easy to see why Trump wants to destroy the world’s number one news source. We can’t let him.

"The BBC belongs to all of us here in the UK.

"The PM [and others] should be united in telling Trump to keep his hands off it."

ICE vehicles waste a whopping 80% of the energy in their fuel. Electric vehicles are propelled by entirely different mechanisms. Energy enters the vehicle as electricity, which directly powers the drivetrain: EVs need not convert one form of energy to another resulting in much higher efficiency.

I watched "No Other Land" with my students last week and afterwards, one commented at how their focus on Gaza these past years had diverted them from thinking enough about the grinding repression in the West Bank.
Earlier today, a mob of Israeli Jewish settlers attacked and assaulted roughly 30 Palestinian villagers and activists, plus about 10 journalists who had gathered during an attempt to harvest olives near a settler outpost in the Israeli-occupied West Bank
