vancouver is a city where 100 non-union workers are laid off before christmas to "save money" while our fuckass mayor flies to DC to see a racist dictator get awarded a fake trophy from a consortium of human rights violators

If you're putting an ad on my fridge, you are required to pay a portion of my rent. There are no free billboards here! Ad space must be paid for! I can't hang a banner with my resume on it in Lowe's. Nobody is letting me paper my photo on the walls of Apple headquarters.

the hater's council just vetoed this actually.

"a real hater hates attention seekers by ignoring them" wise words from one hater elder.

"hate reading is for homework dorks" said another senior hater on condition of anonymity as this statement was a compound diss targeting other council members

BREAKING: The majority of executives and upper management are totally talentless hacks.
A study by Dayforce shows 87% of executives use AI for work, compared to 57% of managers and just 27% of employees.

I think this explains the massive disconnect we see in how CEOs talk about AI versus everyone else. It also raises the question of how useful it truly is for frontline work?
Execs are embracing AI more than their employees are, new research suggests
Research from HR software company Dayforce suggests that executives are leaning into AI far more than their employees.

Sometimes we leave out glasses of water on purpose so Luna will have some dang water. We call it Crime Water and folks, it works. A cat's yearning to commit petty crimes overrides their refusal to drink water every time.
Mulligan has been drinking out of the people water all afternoon and we just found out

Canada made weird tv shows because it was all being done with government funded art grant money so they fell in this wacky middle ground between “shoestring budget” and “no expectation to generate shareholder value” which is really the best way to make art

The Vancouver Aquatic Centre was closed for a bit because chunks of concrete were falling from the ceiling. It's back open now, and don't worry, the problem is solved: they installed netting to catch the concrete 🙃🔪 So happy the cops get all the military cosplay gear they need tho!!
Vancouver cannot afford nice things because we're giving half a billion dollars to cops next year.
In an interview this week, Ken Sim said that he had a list of all the times he said no to the Vancouver Police Department, and said a lot of their budget increases were out of the city's control.

We got the list. We looked at the budget.

Here is a fact check.

Quite frankly, I think non-fascists who are still using Twitter and somehow still believe it’ll help them achieve non-fascist aims are 100% delusional. It’s pathetic.
It's a censorship engine designed to promote ideas that Elon Musk likes and suppress ideas that Elon Musk does not like. I really don't get why this evident fact - that Musk openly admits! - is so hard for so many people to understand
An X user asks Elon Musk why they’re seeing tweets from left-wing lawmakers.

Musk: “Because we are failing very badly with the recommendations algorithm. Doing my best to address this.”
