This post reminds me of when I went to look up how much the likes of Franklin Booth and Dana Gibson were paid and I had a melt down.
Charles Dana Gibson was offered a contract in 1904 by Collier's Weekly to produce 100 pictures a year for $1,000 each.
$1k adjusted for inflation is $24k.

IMO game devs should reach out to their local library to see if they would be willing to do conventions for locally made games. You get so many people looking at your stuff who will never come across it on social media
