it's tricky tho policy wise, bc on one hand, local enforcement can leave kids vulnerable esp if their parents don't accept their identity and the school isn't willing to protect them

on the other hand, i think keeping the issue local and case by case helps depoliticize the issue >>>

i will also argue that her insistence that issues of trans students should be handled at the community level, between schools and parents, might sound like she's dodging the issue, but it really is best handled by those most affected by it
