I can't make up my mind on whether I like SQL or not. Specifically the whole "the database figures out how to actually answer the query for itself" part. Because 9 times out of 10 I do very much care *how* it will execute the query and I feel like I'm constantly second-guessing the query planner.

This is an economic indicator. Younger people with tons of free time have less money for games and the entire hobby is skewing more expensive and older. As incomes drop and time ALSO becomes scarce then waiting for discounts just gets more and more appealing.

I cannot imagine how insufferable people starting Elden Ring have it now with backseating. I'm so glad I hit it hard for like 12 days in a row doing 8 hour streams and was able to get farther than nearly anyone who wanted to backseat me.
I feel like the 2 year wait makes sense because more people have beat the game and so more people feel comfortable showing up without getting spoiled so they can hit you with the
