Yes, flood CR's feedback line too with requests to

- stop using AI to closed caption dubs

- keep their current subtitling software (Aegisub. Not the one they are switching to)

Please!
Good job, guys. See if you can't make similar results happen for No Game, No Life and Vinland Saga.

Getting close to time to start asking for the same kind of fervor for AI generated closed captions as well. You can fight this, it CAN work.

I'd love for more complaints towards crunchy roll, who has been doing this to its subtitles too
I watched Wolf's Rain with friends, and the AI garbage that was used to make the subtitles made them horribly distracting and disrespectful with how wrong they were.
Get this AI slop out of here!

Please tag me if you see any anime that appears to plainly be using AI transcriptions for closed captions. That's CLOSED CAPTIONS (SDH) for ENGLISH DUBS, not subtitles for Japanese audio. I wanna publicly keep track of some of these and start holding platforms accountable.

Allegedly Shudder is dubbing foreign films into English with AI as well. Don’t have an account to check, just a post on the Reddit.

I know Banana Fish wasn't the only series with an AI dub slapped onto it, but part of me wonders if the reason why they selected Banana Fish specifically as one of the test beds was because Banana Fish is early foundational gay media and thought it would have fewer viewers and no one would catch it.

Amazon has seemingly removed the Banana Fish AI dub, likely in response to the vocal outcry

It should be noted that they can remove this AI dub, or all of their AI dubs

But they can’t remove the fact that they chose to try to do it in the first place.
The only thing less human than these AI dub performances is the decision to sign off on them

A company this big can pay human actors a decent wage, not produce slop that intentionally removes the human element.

As someone who works in the tech industry--absolutely.

They are testing the waters. These are top-down orders. The ONLY way to stop it is a visceral negative reaction. Write articles. Post your rage. Email. Post. @. All those things.

Only you have the power to kill it.
Let me give some insight on this, as a producer in the dub industry who worked with major streamers, who's witnessed first-hand where this push for AI is coming from.

tl;dr: Only CEOs want this. Tell them how much you hate it. Be loud, email, call, @, post. You will kill this.

SO... I'm pretty much done with Fortnite. There were statements made by Tim Sweeney saying that AI usage doesn't need to be disclosed, and then AI usage was found all over this current season- from art to sprays to in-game songs. Between that, and the upcoming shitty wizard collab... Yeah, I'm done.

In case you were wondering where to send your thoughts on the AI "dub" of Banana Fish, you can do so here.

Be polite--and I *mean* that--but so long as you're polite, feel free to let them know exactly how you feel about the AI "dub."
That I can do.

Search Prime Video for the title (I went with Banana Fish), then click on Details, and scroll past the Cast page to "Send Us Feedback."

This goes without saying, but No Love will not incorporate any form of ML/AI algorithm in its production. All animation is done by me, assets are from storefronts modeled by real people in which I will credit, some bespoke assets are made by people I know, and VA will be recorded with real people!

Seeing people blast the Amazon AI dubs but then announce they’ll be streaming Where the Winds Meet

I understand you were never likely to watch or engage with these anime dubs to begin with, but please be aware these things are doing the same thing - replacing the human element within art you love.

Companies can fuck around and stick little shit in the edges and maybe get away with it, but even CoD's limited use of obvious AI slop seems to have actually gotten them financially smacked. People have bad taste, that doesn't mean they won't come for your blood if they feel cheated

Obviously my algorithm is tilting things a certain way, but I see almost universal disdain from humans on every platform. Over on Twitter, ppl are still lining up to dunk on the Suno grifter lady like she’s standing under a child’s hoop.
Is this platform still massively against AI or has it moved more towards acceptance?
