Oh thank something or other that it's not only me.

I wish I could see the end of the road for ACT.

"Performative gobshittery" filed for future use, thank you. Near future probably

Anecdote, sorry. My son has a 1st class honours degree in organic chemistry from the UoA and he is having a fine life in Austria. And by the way UoA, stuff you resoundingly for making the only GenEd paper that fitted his timetable one year German Language.

Oh that's not fair! Sam is too cool to be a Chris.

Yes I have! Arrived home in the very small hours of Thursday morning and voted today. Thank you Auckland Libraries / Auckland Council.

I don't know who is responsible for the "sack Seymour" sticker I saw on a road sign today in Remuera but well done that person and can I join your club please? #nzpol

Low ballot returns in the local government elections so far? That's worrying - but highlighting 'low turnout' can turn it into a self-fulfilling prophecy. Better: show that many are voting, share local examples, and remind people their vote counts. A 🧵 #nzpol

60% in the not confident bracket just now.

My partner is so jet-lagged that he has just said that he talked to my mother on my phone earlier today. She died suddenly in 1996, so I would have loved to know if she had called me.

Liz Gunn's mother once turned a garden hose on to council tree pruners because they were "pruning" trees in the road she lived on.

I'd be ropeable. Stupid is an understatement.

My partner complained for years that I bought (Whittakers) chocolate for our kids. They have left home, and now he is rummaging in the cupboard for chocolate. It's sad.

That's a crappy thing to do. Uni costs money and adds debt. The least they can do is be consistent.

We had a whole year of that. Goofy kid didn't realise that the necessary papers would fill up, and they were consecutive.

Remember the Magic Eye books of the 90s?? Now, you can have a crack at viewing New Zealand’s native flowers in 3D. Clematis, orchid, ngutukākā, korukoru, oioi… this is a luscious, spectacular feature by @rebekahwhite.bsky.social, based on the new book He Puāwai by @theobrominated.bsky.social
Magic flora
Philip Garnock-Jones has spent more than a decade photographing our native flowers as they’ve never been shown before: in luscious, three-dimensional detail.

Best wishes for some constructive "down time" and that new opportunity ( when you are ready for it).
