Unlike other countries who molded theirs after ours.

We have a built in safety plan and refuse to use it. Literally specifically for this fucking moment.
Even after Trump is gone, the world will remember that he threatened to forcibly seize the territory of a peaceful democratic ally, and our institutions failed to immediately remove him. That makes US dangerously unreliable, not just one senile gangster.
His not being impeached by the end of the business day as a result of this threat is as much a problem as the threat itself. It’s not just Trump that the world has to worry about, it’s a GOP that supports him and Democrats who suck their thumbs and refuse to even discuss pushing to remove him

I have asked multiple people in the administration and around Trumpworld what is up with these “simulations,” and no one has any idea what Brooke Rollins is talking about
Brooke Rollins is still at it!

"We had run almost 1,000 simulations, and between $3 and $4 is a fair number if you can have access to that food. I just saw new numbers that were run: a full day, meaning 3 full square meals and a snack, is about $15.64."

Ask them how it feels to be lectured by an 80 year old Pedo… in the world stage.

They’re all bitches.
How does it feel being lectured by someone who is at war with his own citizens in his own country about why and how Europe is not doing good, Europe?

Even Lutnick is comparing the U.S. attempt to steal Greenland to the Russian attempt to steal Ukraine.
Lutnick: "I didn't understand why they sent a couple dozen military people to Greenland. It made no sense whatsoever. I mean, they didn't send those couple of dozen people to Ukraine before Russia came in. If you provoke the president, you're gonna get a response."

I also previously thought amoral but rational capitalists used rubes by cynically deploying vicious / silly right wing ideologies. But I now think I underestimated how many true believers there are, some of the previously rational got internet brain poison, and there's been change in who's in power.
i had sincerely thought that sexism was a dying prejudice because, in all honesty, up until 2025 i also sincerely believed on at least some level that powerful capitalists with rational but amoral priorities controlled everything and understood the value women bring to the workforce

it is rational behavior once you realize that the marginal value of a billion and one dollars is actually zero relative to one billion dollars, whereas sexual access to one's subordinates is something they highly value

This is extraordinary powerful - and rather hard to read being from the border city of Detroit. I never would have believed that my country would so badly rupture its relationship with a nation that literally and figuratively our closest neighbor. But here we are.

the majority of the activity doesn't even seem remotely protest-related! it's just convoys of goons driving all over the place trying to kidnap every person who doesn't have white skin and a bunch of people following them around making noise to prevent this
Every time the Trump regime uses the words "funded protesters" and "outside agitators" news outlets need to cut to this photo from last week.

ICE has invaded these communities. Outside agitators don't show up in their fucking bathrobes.

I genuinely think Ted Cruz would have been president if he decked Trump for shit talking his wife.
I know this is a joke, but gosh, I have said forever that we could have avoided most of this bullshit with a couple of well-timed knuckle sandwiches that would have been entirely merited even a decade ago.

Willfully ignorant* that’s what these people are. They know what they’re doing.
Lying or ignorant? You decide?
BARTIROMO: I mean, we talk about evil action from Putin going into Ukraine. People are looking at Greenland and saying, 'How is it possible the US can acquire another country even though they're pushing back?'

LUTNICK: I don't remember Greenland being another country. We're not taking over Denmark.

The Republican Party is going to single handedly be responsible for ending 80 years of US dominance on the world stage. No one is going to trust us, our bond ratings are going to fall and be sold, and people will stop holding the dollar as a reserve currency.
