Hanukkah celebrates finding perseverance, strength, and light in the darkest moments.

Now more than ever, it’s on all of us to carry that light forward for the good of everyone.

Happy first night of Hanukkah, California! 🕎

What do the authors of “The Day the Books Disappeared”, @joannahowrites.bsky.social and @carolinekpritchard.bsky.social, say to those who argue a certain book might be too advanced for a child? Do not "underestimate the brilliance of young people”. #Velshi #VelshiBannedBookClub
Velshi Banned Book Club: 'The Day the Books Disappeared' by Caroline Kusin Pritchard and Joanna Ho
“The Day the Books Disappeared” by Joanna Ho and Caroline Kusin Pritchard, was born out of the uptick in censorship and challenges to literary access happening over the past few years. Since publication, though, it has become a cultural artifact, a microcosm of American culture today, by being censored in its own right.

I am often asked what laws I would recommend blue states adopt. While there is no one-size-fits-all approach, there are seven changes every state could adopt right now, for virtually no cost or administrative burden. www.democracydocket.com/opinion/seve...

I’m alone with the twins while the girls are at a party.

They spill color markers everywhere. A mess.

I thought “ you know what? I can try.”

I sang the cleanup song.

They freaking cleaned up.

Amaze. Amaze. Amaze.

hey kids before you type out that comment having to do with someone's appearance, maybe consider that the woman-shaped thing on the internet has probably heard it eight thousand times before. don't. no, even if it's a potential health issue. no, even if you're a nurse. no, even if you're being nice.

Flipping through what I have and saw Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip sitting there. Popped on that first episode and despite my having watched it three previous times, it still hits every single moment with me.

I love this show.
I adore this cast.

We were robbed only getting one season.

Republicans have absolutely no interest in protecting women’s bodily rights! And have no intention on releasing those Epstein files in their entirety. They are verifiably against women!

Only five of the agency’s civil rights offices remain nationwide. Those who are still with the department say it will now be “virtually impossible” to resolve #discrimination complaints.

Increase in productivity since 1979: 87%

Increase in hourly pay since 1979: 32%

Just so happens that ~25% of workers were unionized in 1979. Today? 10%.

As unions declined, the super-rich have taken a larger share of wealth generated by labor. We must build back union power.

Once again, Russia has only itself to blame for this. It was its aggression that caused Finland and Sweden to join NATO and its Russia’s aggression that has strengthened the European alliance and put it on a war footing.

At the last election people voted for change. And Starmer received votes from other parties because people were desperate. Voting for some vague notion of change hasn’t worked.
Next time vote specifically for the things you believe in! Because if you aren’t prepared to do that. Why would others?
