No, this email does not find me well. I am on the trails, taking advantage of every moment of sunshine before the big dark.

The email can’t even find me at all.

Taikan Yokoyama was a prominent figure in modern Japanese painting (Nihonga), who helped revitalize the art form. He developed the mōrōtai “blurred style", using soft color washes without outlines. He later became known for masterful monochrome ink paintings, particularly depictions of Mount Fuji.
The painting is titled Mountain Village after Storm by the Japanese artist Yokoyama Taikan, created in 1912.
The artwork is a nihonga painting, a style of Japanese art that uses traditional techniques and materials. It depicts a serene and misty mountain landscape, with a small village nestled among pine trees on a hillside. The artist used soft gradients and blurred ink washes, a technique known as Mōrōtai, to create a dreamlike and atmospheric scene where forms emerge from a veil of fog. The overall mood of the painting is one of tranquility and quiet harmony, capturing the calm that follows a storm.

day 1016: a tiny sketch I did at the park Friday evening, and the view that inspired it. The sunlight coming under the clouds as the sun set was something to behold ☀️

This is a picture of a tiny sketchbook (about the size of a postage stamp), with a marker sketch of an evening sky over the park’s landscape. The book is held open to the camera by a white hand with painted pink nails. In the background we see the scene that inspired the drawing

Okay, so it looks as though this is probably a slime mold called Lycogala or wolf’s milk slime! It’s not a fungus
