im in the hinterlands - gop does great here - thinking about who has their shit together enough to vote under the SAVE act would make us Pete Buttigieglandia overnight
Been toying with the same thought. Pointless barriers to voting pitched as a solution to an imaginary problem are a bad idea in principle, but Republicans seem very sure it will help them on net, and that’s not really obvious to me.
The funny thing about the MAGA voter ID crusade is...are they SURE they want to do that? Increase the hurdles to advantage the most motivated? Because I assure you, Democratic voters will jump through any hoop you put in front of them to get a ballot cast. Can MAGA say the same of its voters?

my brother in law had the most amazingly ill behaved bulldog. the dude made it 12 and finally passed, peacefully at home. this dog was a major hiccup for various family events.

Last week people thought a seagull-duck hybrid was hanging out in town. It was very chill and not afraid of people at all.
Tragically it was just an albino duck that was probably deaf and had other genetic impairments. Hope the dude is doing ok.

A thing to watch for is when DHS will target the low hanging fruit of small towns, the resistance will be much lower however they will be affecting their political base - small business tyrants and landlords that rely on the Latino populations of their fiefdoms.

This is literally the issue plaguing American cities. The real rub is the cities are generally funded by property taxes so they really don’t want home values to go down. Heck, there’s probably a break even point figured out for displacing encampments

The ICE raids have started in Shelton and they’re as grim as one would expect. Unlike MSP, Shelton is sparsely population and the immigrant community is really segregated. So 200 disappeared last week and there hasn’t been any chatter about in the English speaker world
Very little if anything seems to have changed on the ground. ICE is still out there terrorizing neighborhoods and trying to disappear neighbors. None of us on the ground are buying this bullshit. We will keep organizing and fighting.
