I’ll share some craft I do. This is Pretty Earth, it is a sour ale aged in wine barrels with beets for nearly 3 years. It’s a really fun utterly distinct beer and I’m pretty proud of the packaging work I did on it.

Honestly any pro sports that takes public money to exist - whether it’s stadium deals, tax cuts, etc - should have to make their books public. I have a feeling a lot of teams would stop mooching!
I invite any MLB owner to open their books and show the public how much money their teams lost in 2025. They won’t, because it’s a lie.

No team has EVER sold for less than it was purchased for. Do not fall for crocodile tears from billionaires who are already getting a Trump tax cut!

Always bummed that when the grocery store in town changed ownership they got rid of the bagged ice that looks like a malt liquor

A good executive order would be forcing Musk to give us all $2k - a compromise from the $5k he told us - according to my math that’s $700b
November 24, 2025 at 4:46 AM
really starting to suspect those $5k checks aren’t coming
Bye bye, “DOGE”.

It no longer exists as a “centralized entity”, according to the Office of Personnel Management.

I generally am fine with liberals - not really convinced that modern subjectivity and liberalism are all that different so yeah Lenin is a liberal - but there is a very annoying quirk a lot of liberals do that is no different than MAGA which is just to say ‘no, you’re wrong, im too smart to debate’

a lot of people fetishize the idea of local governance. and yet im getting subskeeted by people who don’t even know im an elected official in a very red area. getting qt’d by @radiofreetom.bsky.social is irksome
Absolutely. What your state and local government is doing affects your day-to-day life more than the Feds, typically. And a lot of voters, even politically aware ones, don't know and cannot name their state reps or city councillors.

in a world of haters and waiters sometimes we just have to recognize the power a table has over all of us
Mamdani turned his haters into waiters at the table of success

That’s not what I was saying but I recognize it could be implied that way. Basically I’ve lived in a solidly blue state my entire life and due to the electoral college my vote for the president doesn’t matter. This isn’t about margins just the practical reality of a winner take all configuration
The idea that your vote is meaningless unless the margin is so tight it could swing the result is to fundamentally misunderstand the profound power of voting. It counts. My God it counts.

Hey, im doing my civic duty. I’m a port commissioner, got elected back in 2021. I agree that the local stuff is greatly ignored, but the president captures the imagination of people and that’s why you see massive swings in participation.
And this is the problem: Too many people think that the vote for president is the only vote that matters.
I worked in a state legislature for more than two years. Immense amounts of power laying around, but people think the president is a god.
I’m 43 and my vote for president has been utterly meaningless my entire adult life. This has been true for the majority of americans. If you want to have an engaged democracy - which I assume Tom does - making every citizen have a say in the presidency would be a massive step forward on that front

The issue isn't who gets representation, it's that once you start unwinding federalism, why stop at presidential elections? Why bother having "states" at all other than as national administrative boundaries?
And why keep the Senate at all? Why not just a giant House, proportionally elected?
Sorry, but this is nonsensical. Federalism isn't a binary. Elect the President by national popular vote and both the little and the big empty states STILL get overrepresented in the Senate, which, need I remind you, confirms judicial and other nominations.

feels like if some federal agent had their beard ripped off that would be all over the news
In another example of testimony that wasn't backed up by evidence, the head of ICE ERO's Chicago Field Office testified that a protestor had "ripped a beard off an agent's face" and broken part of ICE's building.

When questioned, he admitted he had no evidence of this at all.

The speed at which the admin has been able to execute year zero mindset is really bonkers, and tbf we won’t really notice it until years later when there is no more institutions

One of things to remember as various politicians/pundits act surprised that the average person deeply cares about the Epstein stuff is how much sexual abuse permeates through American life and this is a moment for closure for literally tens of millions of people

Also: the far right is an entertainment franchise to the majority of its base. Labour's strategy would be like telling a generation raised on WWE and AEW that you're going to do *proper* Olympic-style wrestling, with no silly costumes or fake stories. Nobody wants that! They want to be entertained!
Appeasing the far-right gives the broader public the impression that their narrative is true. There is no way to stem support for Reform by endorsing their policies. Either you are fighting against them or you are, regardless of how you see yourself, fighting for them.

Tough news out of Oregon today. Abruptly, Rogue Brewery has ceased all operations. The brewery and all the pubs. Especially sucky for the employees. $545k in overdue rent, $30k in back taxes. And that’s just what we know about. washingtonbeerblog.com/rogue-brewer...
