Does anyone in Baltimore need (or could use) a 20 lb turkey? Because reasons, we have acquired one, and while we can come up with uses for it, it's A Problem for my allergy issues and if someone needs it more, Sarah is happy to deliver anywhere in Baltimore

I might be going out onto a limb, but I'd wager this is for a similar reason as to why SO many F-M pairs have a conventionally attractive woman with a man who is "insert literally any variety". It's especially noticeable in animation.

I'm sure there are far more books/comics that flip the script
Has this pairing ever been flipped? Where a man falls in love with a monster?

Would love to see this become law in the US too.
Woah!

Ontario passed a law starting Jan 2026 that it is illegal for companies to ghost you.

If you have interviewed for a job they are legally required to inform you if they hire someone else or close the position.

The law also requires salary transparency on listings and disclosing use of AI

I see we're talking about pirating books again today-- don't do this.

My budget has been tight this year, I get it. That's why I've been getting a ton of books from the library. With Libby and Overdrive it's just as convenient as Amazon, there's no reason not to use it. And authors still get paid.

What might be my favourite fossil has been just published by Kiat et al. 2025. Years ago I saw a pic of this Anchiornis specimen in nat geo article and I audibly gasped.preserving not only the feathers but also the original patterns as well. I made this drawing on the spot. Maybe its time to do v2.0

Gods this is so real.
Realism is a technical still, sure! It shows your understanding of a medium, of light, or the ability to copy a photo. But it's not everything. It's not the ONLY thing.
You can make amazing non-realistic art.
You can make amazing stylized art.
Cute, funky, weird, great art.
“THE NON-ARTIST FIXATION ON HYPERREALISM AS THE PINNACLE OF ART IS CLEARLY PART OF THE REASON SO MANY ADULTS THINK THEY CANNOT DRAW OR CONSIDER THEMSELVES TO BE FAILURES, KAWAII, FOLK ART, DOODLES, OR OTHER EASIER ENTRY POINTS ARE CONSIDERED CHILDISH, WHICH IS WHY JAPANESE DRAWING BOOKS ARE BETTER…”

⛰️山海経21: 鯈魚。淡水生の4つ首ニワトリ。分類上は魚類らしい。鯈という字はコイ科の魚を意味するそうなので、大正三色カラーにしました。
🌊Shanhai jing 21: Tiao-yu, the fish chicken with four heads, six legs, and three tails. They live in the river. One of the weirdest creatures from the book imo.

One of the cruelest tricks society played on creative people was planting the idea that being proud of your work is somehow unseemly and egotistical.

You made a thing! You like it! You SHOULD be proud of it. Brag all you want!

I love these series, they're all fantastic. Great for historical world building details.
If you're doing any sort of Medieval #WorldBuilding, for game design or novels or whatever, & you haven't seen Ruth Goodman's "Tudor Monastery Farm", you're in for a treat. I highly recommend her & the crew, & not just for this particular series. #ttrpg #history

a cool thing that happened is ppl destroyed a remnant prairie at Rockford Airport. While the rusty-patch bumblebee foraged there, there was no proof it *nested* there. So 💥

Publications only had proof they nested in forests

This paper would have saved the prairie

Bumble bees use three main habitats to complete their life cycle: foraging habitat, overwintering habitat, and nesting habitat. Overall, the majority of bumble bee research has focused on the foraging...

One of the strangest aspects of aging that they don't warn you about is watching as history gets rewritten right in front of your face and people 20 years younger than you confidently tell you about something you lived through and get it completely wrong.

I think the reason romantasy is dwarfing sales of fantasy & sci-fi is that it's a subset of romance.

And romance is the biggest, most profitable category in literature.

Romantasy allowed romance readers, who read very widely, to take cross-genre romance mainstream & it's reaping the rewards.

I hope you bask in how awesome it is that you had ideas and thoughts and worked on them for years to develop them into words others can understand. Like that's some sorcery shit. Well it seems it is going to be to late for @lastweektonight.com to help with their hiatus. Any suggestions for a big sci com/science interested news account I should play with to help save PRI?

Tag them in the comments with your pitch for why they should help out this museum maybe
