the only way to save the planet is to stop extraction of fossil fuels. a demand-side-only approach won't work. capital found a new way to create demand for fossil fuels...for products nobody even wants. it will keep doing so unless we intervene outside the market.

by the time that plant is half finished you could have a solar plant + storage generating as much power, for far less money. with very little risk of cost overruns or accidents.

What I believe could've worked:

1. Let Walz cook. Let him be the attack dog calling Republicans "weird" week after week.

2. Break (subtly) with Biden on Gaza. Make it clear that you will not simply carry on with his policies.

3. Champion progressive policies & energize the base. No Cheneys!

Harris took a tough situation and made it worse by tying herself to Biden and using his people to run her campaign. Obviously, Biden should've never run. Dems could've had a real primary.

But running to the right on immigration and Gaza & tempering attacks on the GOP were all unforced errors.
