If you live in the Cities, an easy way to help immigrant families in hiding is: laundry! Laundromats are ICE magnets, so people without washers need help.

The People’s Laundry will drop off laundry to your door to wash and dry and pick up a few days later:

This is so bizarrely correct. Only the dirty dancing 2 guy could get there. Respect.
I will only watch this if Rockford is played by Audrey Plaza.
Jim Rockford is back on the case: NBC has ordered a pilot for a reboot of the classic '70s detective series The Rockford Files.

I will leave to others with expertise to discuss the legality of the raid on Venezuela and whether Maduro can claim any immunity. But one area where I am qualified to speak is whether Mr. Maduro and Flores can claim that the manner in which they were brought before the court makes a difference. 1/8

You can see him bumbling through the papers looking for the “safe, proper, and judicious” language. I bet it says something careful about ensuring stability or the like. He went off script and told the truth and thereby blew the legal justification. “We’re going to run it” was not the plan here.
Trump: "We're going to stay [in Venezuela] until such time as the proper transition can take place…We're going to run it, essentially, until such time."

It’s probably silly/naive but it seems possible that there’s a next step (waive) where women, who wanted to got to, stayed home and raise kids because feminism and me too worked and men were forced to behave better? It seems like trustworthy/good men would allow women who wanted this to do it. Maybe

TRUTH.

For example, finding an eye-witness account of the Burr-Hamilton duel that seemingly no one else has found…

I didn’t move for hours.

Made it into my dissertation.
Into my first book.
And into the Hamilton musical.

Research, man.
Nothing like putting the pieces together for the first time.
I don't have a specific story at the top of my head, but the experience of picking up a loose piece of paper and realizing when you get to the end of the page that you now know something about the past that literally no other living person knows?

Unbeatable.
I think we need a mega thread of everyone's craziest archive stories.

Man that’s wild. Someone can just do normal things but on the internet and if they’re not garbage grifters it’s just ok? The kids may, in fact, be ok.
Hey I posted about this on the other app but wanted to do so here, too.

In short: I said yes without doing an ounce of vetting, and that's 100% on me. Thought it was just a normal marketing gig and I'm incredibly embarrassed about the whole thing. A colossal fuck-up on my part.
Mina, please help us understand the solitaire situation. I think most fans are concerned about its origins. I ask respectfully. Best wishes.

Man I’m glad to hear someone else say this. I listened with real interest (even relistened to parts thinking I was missing something). I could not identify one coherent argument beyond “woke is bad.” It’s a Wheaton freshman dorm conversation that made them feel smart and made everyone else dumber.
Ok I listened to whole thing to be fair. Conclusions:

I've seen this go by a few times on TikTok now and I have to say, I love this idea. We need a way to convince people to keep running even if they don't win, maybe building the loss into it as a troll move is the secret.

"'They’re spending more money than I would even tax them,' [Mamdani] said in an interview with MSNBC last week."

This is the message. Make it clear that these billionaires aren't just worried about losing money. They're worried about losing the ability to exchange their money for power.

This times infinity. Except it should apply in every single political message and issue. Dems want people to flourish and be as free as possible until you hurt someone else.
i’d also say that the GOP’s obsession with this gives candidates an opportunity to articulate and stand up for their values. “i refuse to make anyone feel like they don’t belong in my [state/city/community]. and i want everyone to live the best life they can achieve [insert policy slogan]”
I am taking particular pleasure in the complete collapse of trans-as-unbeatable-wedge-issue narrative this morning. It might be an 80-20 issue in voters minds, but it has to be on voters minds to matter. The results in VA demonstrate that it is very much not on voters minds.
