works better for them if your access to healthcare is tied to working for them - universal healthcare gives them less leverage over you - offering insurance as a perk also makes one job more attractive than a job that doesn't offer it and makes you more likely to keep that job that does offer it

Only 41.5% of Alabama registered voters voted. When you factor in people who can’t register because of age, citizenship status and voter suppression- it means that of the approximately 5.1 million citizens or Alabama only about 28% of them voted for Trump.
