I will offer a refinement on the national service idea.

All elected officials, from the most local to the federal, must complete at least one two-year term of national service.

If we use it as the 1st hurdle to government office (rather than the current hurdle, $$$) it might have an effect.

It’s however a perfect pretense to manufacture a reason for the Insurrection Act which paves way for expanded military powers and greater election interference.

Impeachment is legitimately the bare minimum thing they should be pushing for. How is this even debatable? If the party was even 1/8th legitimate, the position of the centrists sellouts would be that he and Vance are impeached and thrown in prison and the progressives have more transformative plans.

If we had a proper *group* response (much better air quality indoors), masking wouldn't be as necessary.

Try to apply this to water: "if I don't filter my water, sometimes I'll get cholera" -- in the short-term, personal filtering makes sense; the real long-term solution is water treatment plants.

yeah, i think a commitment to public health obligates you to get vaccinated and, when you are sick, do what you can to avoid spreading that to other people. the demand that one mask at all times in public spaces is, i think, unreasonable.

Those of us living with complex chronic illness have been screaming about eugenics since the “rush back to normal”.

Once people heard that Covid was “only a risk to the vulnerable” they couldn’t wait to drop precautions.

That’s eugenics.

The vulnerable matter too.

Answers like this tend to forget there are 20 million people with long covid and over 100m with conditions that significantly increase risk from covid.
